  1. A good hyperlocal whiskey in Tucson is Whiskey Del Bac (they have a mesquite smoked whiskey which is very nice). One disturbing thing I’ve become aware of is that not all craft distilleries don’t actually distill.¬†http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2014/07/28/your-craft-whiskey-is-probably-from-a-factory-distillery-in-indiana.htmlThis isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Those may indeed be very good whiskies, but I don’t want to be fooled into paying an unnecessary premium. They may even take the recently distilled spirits then age it themselves. I know some new wineries get started by importing grapes from California until their vineyards start producing.¬†Ultimately, what matters is the end product. It’s much easier for me to spot faux craft beer brands. A quick google search on my iPhone will tell me who actually owns them like Third Shift or Blue Moon. Some even started out small and then got bought out by the big guys like Goose Island.¬†
