I just dry hopped by Scottish double brown stout. I will keg it next weekend. Love this beer, the recipe shouldn’t work but the beer totally does: a heavily hopped, sweet stout.
Never get tired of seeing happy yeast bubbling away the next day in a freshly made batch of home brew.
And… Done. Yeast is pitched and all the equipment is clean and set out to dry. Beer #48 and the last batch of 2017.
Boil is well under way, past the point of most critical attention. Time for a reward.
Hit all my preboil targets, still tasting great with a beautiful, super dark garnet color.
First runnings are above target gravity, color looks great and first wort hop addition smells amazing.
Hit my first target out of the gate, pH on test mini mash. Mash water adjusted and doughed in.
“John Barleycorn Must Die” Slow start to brew day but cruising now.
